Workshop Overview

The Organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) is hosting its intensive Utility Rate-Making Workshop from July 13-15. Over 60 participants from 18 Caribbean countries and the United States of America arrived in Barbados for this 3 Days In-Person event. Held at the prestigious Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) Headquarters Conference Facility, this regional workshop equips energy professionals, regulators, and utility executives with the foundational tools to design fair, transparent, and resilient tariff frameworks.

Day 1 & Day 2 Curriculum

  • Day 1: Foundations of Ratemaking – Master the essentials of electric ratemaking basics, explore marginal costs, and analyze core cost-of-service principles.
  • Day 2: Rate Design & Capital – Transition from theory to execution with deep dives into the essentials of rate design, modern tariff structures, and evaluating the cost of capital.
