The Executive Council of OOCUR has appointed Mr. Glenn Khan as Executive Director for a period of one year commencing July27th, 2023.

Mr. Khan has been tasked with resuscitating activities of interest to OOCUR’s membership, and of expanding our membership base. Owing to the Covid 19 pandemic activities normally undertaken to support the development and furtherance of membership were at a virtual standstill. Despite those challenges the Executive Council continued to hold meetings to strategise and to consider a way forward. We had a further setback following the departure of Kathleen Reviere – Smith in 2021 but the EXCO continued to meet and make plans for the revitalisation of OOCUR.

The EXCO has been involved in several initiatives with regional and international partners discussing various opportunities for training and development activities, some of which will be rolled out within the coming months. We have also been considering a Strategic Planning session that will involve all members, and which is intended to receive guidance from members on the way forward. We look forward to your meaningful participation in that activity and will advise as soon as arrangements are finalized.

In the mean-time the new Executive Director will be reaching out to the membership as there has been a considerable vacuum since our Annual Conference in 2019.

Finally, let me on behalf of the Executive Council apologise for the long delay in reaching out to our membership to provide information on OOCUR”s activities and initiatives.

We look forward to rekindling the spirit of community that all us shared as Caribbean people
